THE VILLAGEPALM BEACH

Privacy Policy

The Village Palm Beach LLC ("The Village," "we," "us") helps Palm Beach families find and book childcare, children's activities, events, nanny placement and household services. This policy explains what information we collect through our website, forms and services, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices you have.

Information we collect

When you book, join our waitlist or membership, request a service, sign an agreement, or contact us, we may collect: parent or guardian contact details (name, email, phone number and home address for in-home services, pickups and drop-offs); information about your children that you choose to provide (names, ages, schools, allergies, medical or care notes, emergency contacts and authorized pickup people); booking and service details such as activities, dates, preferences, job descriptions, and the hourly rate and schedule you want for a nanny; signed waivers and agreements, and payment information — payments are processed securely by Stripe, and we do not see or store your full card number; and messages you send us by email, text, phone or social media. If you apply to join our team or list your services, we collect your contact details, experience, certifications, availability, rates, references, and payout details. Like most websites, our site and its hosting and analytics tools may also collect your IP address, browser and device type, pages visited, and similar usage data through cookies or similar technologies.

How we use information

We use information to schedule, provide and manage bookings, events, memberships and services; to keep children safe and well cared for, including sharing allergy, medical and pickup details with the caregiver or provider serving your family; to match families with nannies and caregivers; to process payments, send confirmations and receipts, and answer questions; to send updates, newsletters and promotions (you can unsubscribe anytime); to review caregiver and provider applications; and to improve our website and services, prevent fraud, and meet legal obligations.

How we share information

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only as needed to run our services: caregivers and providers who deliver the service you booked receive the details they need to care for your child; families considering a nanny or caregiver may receive relevant parts of that caregiver's profile; service vendors that help us operate, such as website hosting (Vercel), online forms, e-signature, transactional email (Resend), email marketing (Constant Contact), payment processing (Stripe) and scheduling tools, may use the information only to provide services to us — Stripe's handling of payment data is described in its own privacy policy at stripe.com/privacy; partner venues hosting an event you registered for, when needed for check-in or safety; legal and safety reasons, if required by law, to protect a child's safety, or to protect our rights; and business transfers — if our business is sold or merged, information may transfer to the new owner under this policy.

Children's privacy

Our website is intended for parents, guardians and adult caregivers. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from anyone under 18. Information about children is provided by their parent or guardian, who may review, update or ask us to delete it at any time. If you believe someone under 18 has given us information directly, contact us and we will delete it.

Photos at events

We may take photos at our events and activities and share them with families or on our social media. If you prefer that your child not appear in photos we post publicly, tell us at registration or anytime by email, and we will honor that request.

Cookies and Do Not Track

You can set your browser to refuse or delete cookies; some site features may not work as a result. Our website does not currently respond to browser "Do Not Track" signals.

Data security and retention

We use reasonable safeguards to protect your information, but no method of transmission or storage is completely secure. We keep information for as long as needed to provide our services, keep required business records (such as signed agreements and payment records), and resolve disputes, then delete or de-identify it.

Your choices

You can review, correct or update the information you have given us; ask us to delete your or your child's information, subject to records we must keep by law or contract; and unsubscribe from marketing emails using the link in any email or by contacting us. To make a request, email us at the address below. We may need to verify your identity before acting on it.

Third-party links

Our site may link to providers, venues or other websites we don't control. Their privacy practices are governed by their own policies.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will post the new version on this page and update the effective date. Significant changes may also be shared by email.
